Angela Rogers is a self-taught studio potter and clay instructor who creates out of her Mouton, Texas studio. She began her ceramic career in 1992. Building on a background in pen and ink drawing, oil painting, and photography, she has moved into the world of vitrified clay. Her childhood, as an Army brat, gave her a taste for the art world as she spent much of her childhood in Europe. She developed an eye for the character in everyone around her. Color and pattern and form stimulated a desire to draw continuously.

She returned to Texas and attended Central Texas College. Her early training with various creative art teachers there gave her the inspiration for her current work. What began as a desire to create sculpted pieces of utilitarian art has continued to evolve. With pencil and sketch book always in hand, she captures the world around her for use as subjects for the pieces she makes. Not only is the art fun to see, the story behind the picture is even more fun to decipher.

Angela currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband Scott Crumley. Her enduring love for animals often ends up as animal focal points in her work. She has been an instructor at Clayways Pottery as well as at Bill Worrell art camps in New Art, Texas.
