These collages explore the intersection of faith and pop culture. They are inspired by what it means to be an "icon" and themes of

"image." They are constructed with fashion magazine images meant to stoke consumer desire, but have been repurposed into jewel encrusted, vibrant versions of a different kind of "model" - the model of a saint. They reflect stories of historical saints as well as imagined-contemporary versions that have been made up in connection with holy themes, prayer, and loved ones. They incorporate the shine and sparkle we are attracted to in order to point to characters deserving the attention.
